![]() Gateway CANopen / PROFIBUS Communication technology in factory automation is currently going through a change of technology from the established field bus technology to Real-Time Ethernet-based systems. In the extension of field bus installations or integration of devices that do not yet possess Ethernet interfaces there are system transfers that need to be linked. For this purpose there are Gateways that possess interfaces to both systems and can exchange data over them. Alone the most important field bus systems, CC-Link, CANopen, DeviceNet and PROFIBUS and Real-Time Ethernet systems such as EtherCAT, Ethernet/IP, Modbus TCP, POWERLINK, PROFINET and SERCOS III result in ten systems. With the various Master and Slave functions there are 400 possible combinations. Taking into account simple serial protocols via RS232-, RS422- or RS485 interfaces one easily reaches more than 1000 Gateways, a multitude of devices that can be realized only by means of customer or project-specific or modular methods. The netTAP uses the flexible properties of the netX network controller optimally and offers an economical and simple configurable solution for various conversions. The various interface are united modularly in a compact top hat housing, the associated Firmware is loaded by means of a USB interface and configured via a universal Windows tool per “Drag and drop”. A quick diagnostic is provided by several LED displays and for purposes of simple servicing or exchange of devices in the field the software and the configuration can be saved and recreated on a MM Cans SD card. |
